This study was designed to compare 3 commonly used methodologies for assessing clinical pain during trials involving patients diagnosed with fibromyalgia syndrome. It concludes that a real-time approach appeared to be responsive to change, mitigated against a placebo response, and demonstrated acceptable levels of patient adherence.
