Cognitive Interviewing
Cognitive interviewing (also referred to as cognitive debriefing in the past) is a qualitative method for assessing respondents’ interpretation of an assessment, using a small sample of patients. Results of the cognitive interview process are documented and can then be used to make decisions about any required changes to the structure of the PRO item.
PRO Consulting uses cognitive interview procedures to ensure the validity of questionnaires migrated to an electronic format (ePRO) and also in the development or modification of PRO measures. PRO Consulting uses a combination of in-house expertise and selected partners to execute cognitive interviewing projects.
